Myolie Wu Unhappy with Mother-In-Law?

Myolie Wu Unhappy with Mother-In-Law?

Tabloids are speculating that Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and her mother-in-law are not getting along.

According to the rumor, Myolie’s relationship with her mother-in-law turned awkward after her son, Brendan Lee (李奕霆), was born last October. Myolie’s mother-in-law, who permanently lives in England, returned to Hong Kong for the purpose of visiting Myolie and Brendan, but she hasn’t been showing signs of wanting to return home.

“It’s become a privacy issue,” said a source. “After all, seeing each other and living with each other are completely different things. Even when the couple would go visit their mother in England, they stayed at a hotel. They never had to live with each other.”

The source added that because Myolie is filial, she hasn’t said anything yet. However, Myolie finds the lack of privacy stifling. She and her mother-in-law would also often get into disagreements. “When it comes to things like cooking meals, the elder wants to do it all on her own, and she’s also not really into Myolie’s suggestions. The biggest difference is on how they want to raise Brendan. Myolie knows her mother-in-law loves them all dearly, but it’s become a stressful environment for her. She wasn’t allowed to drink things cold, she nagged Myolie about the food she was eating, it was just all really stressful…”

Reportedly Myolie and her mother-in-law reached more disagreements when it came to hosting Brendan’s hundred day banquet, but Myolie managed to convince her husband, Philip Lee (李乘德), that she should be the one solely responsible for managing the event. “Of course, Myolie invited all [walled village] relatives,” claimed the source.

Myolie Wu’s Son’s Face Revealed; Brendan is a Cutie!

Giving birth in October, Myolie Wu‘s (胡杏兒) son Brendan has turned three months old. Although Myolie frequently shares Brendan’s photos online, they have been restricted to side shots of his face. Yesterday, husband Philip Lee (李乘德) finally uploaded a close-up photo of Brendan, revealing the adorable baby’s face for the first time!

Brendan inherited the best traits from his parents. His most striking feature was his big, expressive eyes.

Philip wrote on Instagram, “Brendan is now [three months] old and we would like to share a photo of him with you. We are lucky that he is very healthy, so funny, always talkative, and definitely is a happy baby.
We would also like to share his Chinese name – 李奕霆 Brendan Yik Ting Lee. May you grow up to be an honorable gentleman with strong positive values, and don’t forget to look after your Mom and Dad, take us on holidays and to eat some good food! Love you Son.”

Philip is known for his expressive posts towards Myolie and their son. Earlier, he shared a moving post about Brendan’s birth and Myolie’s refusal to get an epidural during labor. For their two-year wedding anniversary, Philip wrote an appreciative note of gratitude towards Myolie for being an amazing wife.

Surrounded by her husband’s attentive gestures and her son’s cuteness, Myolie is enjoying her early days of motherhood. She wrote about Brendan on Instagram, “The happiest moment each morning is to wake up and see your sweet smile. The most enjoyable moment every night is when you fall asleep on my chest. Mommy loves you!”

Myolie Wu’s Husband Posts Moving Message for Two-Year Anniversary

Myolie Wu’s Husband Posts Moving Message for Two-Year Anniversary

Married for two years, Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and Philip Lee (李乘德) welcomed their first child Brendan in October. Often sharing long, reflective posts on his social media, Philip reflected on their two-year marriage and dedicated a touching tribute to his wife:

“My wife once told me that no matter what, she would make sure that she would be the hardest working in whatever she did. That moment really struck a chord with me and it says so much about her. I know that most people know her mainly as an actress or public personality. But I would also like you to know that she is a tremendously committed daughter, sister, friend, wife, and now mother who works so hard for everything that is important to her.”

He continued, “Even though our journey is only two years old, and it’s been full of laughter and growth, her never-give-up attitude in making things better for everyone around is something that I respect and treasure. After all, the unachievable notion of ‘perfection’ as a couple is never really the goal – instead it will be our ability and attitude to overcome the obstacles ahead of us together that will define us and help carve out the life we seek. Thank you and happy two years LP xxx.”

In a shorter, but equally sweet gesture, Myolie also posted a photo from their wedding day and happily wrote, “Happy 2 years Hubby, thank you for making me laugh every day, love you!!”

Myolie Wu Breastfeeds in Front of Friends

Myolie Wu Breastfeeds in Front of Friends

Since giving birth to her son Brendan in October, Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) attended her first public event. The radiant first-time mother seemed to have returned to her pre-pregnancy weight already. However, Myolie clarified that she still needs to work on losing a few more pounds.

Having just completed her post-pregnancy one-month confinement, the 38-year-old actress was quick to return to work. “I didn’t think it was going to be so quick either. I was just thinking about having the opportunity to see Sun Li (孫儷).”

Known for being a sweet and caring husband, did Philip Lee (李乘德) insist that she take more time to rest? Myolie said, “He lets me decide. I’m afraid of being bored and breastfeeding is very exhausting. There is no time for sleeping. I’m giving my baby boy all of my fat and water content. He’s nearly 12 pounds!”

Although she intends to return to work, will she be reducing her workload to be a more involved mother? Notorious for being a workaholic, Myolie said, “I can’t accept any jobs that require an extended amount of time. I have to breastfeed for half a year. I hope to be a working mom though, so I will work part-time.”

Earlier, it was reported that she breastfeeds in front of her girlfriends in the Nonsense Club. Though the issue of breastfeeding in public remains controversial, Myolie shared, “Yes, I’m very open [about it]. It is convenient for me at home and I’m very close to my girlfriends. I was afraid of scaring them, because [my breasts] are so large now! I want to encourage them to breastfeed too.”

5 Cliques in the HK Entertainment Industry That You May Have Heard About

5 Cliques in the HK Entertainment Industry That You May Have Heard About

It’s good to have friends to fall back on no matter what, even when it comes to celebrities in the ever-competitive Hong Kong entertainment industry. From traveling the world together to competing in friendly competitions, here are five Hong Kong celebrity cliques that’s making rounds in the entertainment scene today.

“The Nonsense Club” also known as “The Wu Clan” (胡說八道會)

Perhaps the most well-known clique in the Hong Kong entertainment industry is The Nonsense Club, which makes up of the Wu sisters Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Paisley Wu (胡蓓蔚), as well as Selena Lee (李施嬅), Mandy Wong (黃智雯), and Elaine Yiu (姚子羚). The girls of the Nonsense Club are all well-known TVB stars and fadans. Though Myolie is no longer with TVB, the girls still meet up on a regular basis, and recently filmed a travelogue for TVB.

“The Virgin Gang” (處女黨)

Consisting of Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), Leanne Li (李亞男), Christine Kuo (苟芸慧), Grace Wong (王君馨), and Eliza Sam (岑麗香), “The Virgin Gang” is a name dubbed by the media. The name was coined after Grace revealed in an infamous 2012 interview that she wanted to remain a virgin until marriage. The five girls actually share many things in common: all are devout Christians, all from North America, and all have made their debuts in the industry as beauty pageant contestants. Four of the girls are now married, with the exception of Christine—though that may change soon!

“The Housewife Alliance” (少婦聯盟)

The newest addition to the HK clique arena is “The Housewife Alliance”, which comprises of Katy Kung (龔嘉欣), Grace Chan (陳凱琳), Zoie Tam (譚凱琪), and Jess Sum (沈卓盈). These girls became close friends after collaborating in the TVB drama The Forgotten Valley <平安谷之詭谷傳說>, which has yet to air. According to the media, Grace, Katy, Zoie, and Jess bonded over their mutual interest of doing “housewife activities.” Though it’s only been one year since the Housewife Alliance came together, TVB is eyeing them to be the successor of the Nonsense Club and will be producing a travel show for the girls.

The Girls of “Never Dance Alone” and “Raising the Bar”

Not all cliques need to have names to stay strong. Winki Lai (賴慰玲), Anjaylia Chan (陳嘉寶), Super Girls’ Cheronna Ng (吳嘉熙), Venus Wong (王敏奕), Kandy Wong (糖妹), Jeannie Chan (陳瀅), and Stephanie Ho (何雁詩) all became close friends after working together in the TVB dramas Never Dance Alone <女人俱樂部> and Raising the Bar <四個女仔三個BAR >. The girls are all known for their youthful looks and their popularity in social media.

Crazy Runner

The co-ed Crazy Runner is a team formed by TVB artists who share the same passion for running. It consists of the girls of the Nonsense Club, including Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪), Joel Chan (陳山聰), Jack Wu (胡諾言), and Brian Tse (謝東閔). Crazy Runner has a TVB program Shall We Run <一起跑過的日子>, which documents the members’ jogging journey.

Myolie Wu Celebrates 38th Birthday with Family

On November 6, Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) celebrated her 38th birthday with close friends and family. Myolie’s husband, Philip Lee (李乘德), didn’t make an appearance on social media updates on the night of Myolie’s party, but her husband personally uploaded a message of celebration for Myolie the following day, sharing a photo he snapped with Myolie that day.

The photo was taken in what looks like to be their kitchen, and Myolie was surrounded by four different birthday cakes.

Philip wrote on Instagram, “Happy birthday to you my excellency. Be happy, be healthy, and keep being you. I’m glad Brendan is celebrating with us today too.”

Myolie also wrote on her Instagram, “Thank you for all the cakes again, Brendan might say mommy why is [your] milk milk so sweet sweet!”
